Inclusion Awareness Campaign

These are difficult times for all our sailors and volunteers alike while we have been unable to sail.

We have been made aware of some useful resources for those being shielded or feeling socially isolated and alone while we have been unable to meet up and sail.

Deborah the mother of one of our Saturday sailors has provided us with details of a website (Jweb) and a number of blogs which might help some of our sailors to feel less isolated.

It may also be useful too for everyone to know that they have some great packaged information and a what’s online listings which everyone might like to know about:

Time in listings of what’s online:

Jweb blogs all customised for learning disabilities; Mental Health Resources, Keeping Fit at home, things to do at home, challenging behaviour, going in to  hospital with a learning disability

Deborah asks please like our posts on social media @jwebuk and if you feel inclined please do send her photos to put on too. They are not using names, this is the message we are putting with every photo and see above some lovely ones we have been given to post already - please  help us spread this about and keep it growing.
Social isolation is not the ‘new normal’ for people with learning disabilities ... it’s just normal. Friendships, socialising and having a job are important to all of us, so when lockdown ends, let’s make sure it ends for everyone. #inclusion
