COVID

CVSS Trustees and Volunteers have taken every reasonable precaution to minimise the risks of Coronavirus COVID-19 through careful planning, risk assessments, training and procedures but this cannot guarantee safety for sailors, visitors or volunteers. People taking part in activities do so at their own risk and neither CVSS nor its Trustees accept any responsibility whatsoever for any COVID-19 related consequences of people volunteering or participating in CVSS activities or being present at Bury Lake.

Risk Assessment

CVSS provides opportunities for disabled people to sail using safe and simple equipment.
CVSS is not a sailing school and no formal training is offered, although volunteers are present to give guidance.
A safety boat with qualified driver is also present.
Although CVSS operates with detailed safety procedures, sailors and/or their carers accept and share in the inherent risks associated with this water sport.

We have made a small change to charges to make things both simpler and fairer. There will now be a fixed fee of £40 per annum for each seat on a boat that you wish to reserve each week - so this is now regardless of who attends from your group. We will continue to charge the annual group fee of £75. There is no charge for supporters even if they accompany your members in boats.

You no longer need to advise us of your sailors in advance, nor pay extra fees.

Each group must bring to the lake our completed attendance form showing the name of each participating sailor.

Please indicate the number of seats you wish to reserve in the comments field below.

Pre-Season Training for Parents, Carers, Teachers, Friends or Personal Assistants

Training is free and a "Certificate of attendance" will be issued on request.

Training sessions run from 10.00 a.m. to 3.30 p.m.

Multiple attendees: If more than one person wishes to attend the training session, please add the names of all those attending in the comments field below.

Personal Belongings: CVSS will endeavour to look after such items but cannot be responsible for loss or damage to them. We would advise that they are not left in the Club.

Hearing Aids, Spectacles, Communication Aids and Electronic Equipment: CVSS recognise that sailors and Personal Assistants may need to bring items such as these above onto our site and into boats.
